GOLGHAR

1.Golghar or Round House is perhaps the most iconic landmark in the city.Located to  the north-west corner of historical ‘Gandhi Maidan’ Golghar is in fact  a huge granary built by Captain John Garstin in 1786.

This piller-less 29 meter high massive round structure looks amazing  from it’s surroundings.

A pair of spiral- staircases, each having 145 steps meet at the top, from where one can have a spectacular panoramic view of the city and the river Ganga flowing nearby.

PATNA PLANETARIUM | INDIRA GANDHI PLANETARIUM

Located in the heart of city, Indira Gandhi Planetarium Is one of the largest planetariums in Asia which Patna can boast of.

Equipped with the ‘state-of-the-art’ technology, Indira Gandhi Planetarium is one of the largest planetariums in the Asian continent attracting a large number of visitors. The annual number of its visitors makes up approximately 1 million people.
The planetarium has a dome of 16 meters with a capacity of 270 seats.

The projection of sky teeming with stars, exploring celestial mysteries, taking a tour of the universe – all these gives a spectacular mesmerizing experience to the audience.

The planetarium runs regular shows on various subjects of astronomy which are constantly updated with the latest events in astronomy and space science. Overall a very entertaining and educational experience. Indira Gandhi planetarium is located in the Indira Gandhi science complex on Bailey road near Income tax roundabout in the heart of Patna.

PATNA ZOO |SANJAY GANDHI BIOLOGICAL PARK

Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park is located is located off Bailey Road in Rajbansi Nagar amidst hustle and bustle of the city.

Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park is home to more than 800 animals representing over 70 species including Tiger, Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Hippo, Crocodile, Himalayan Bear, Lion-tailed Macaque, Leopard Cat, Hog Deer, Zebra, Emu and White Peacock including some endangered ones.

An aquarium and snake house is another attraction of the park. The aquarium has about 35 species of fish. The snake house has 32 snakes representing 5 species.

The flora consists of more than 300 species of trees, herbs and shrubs in the Botanical part of the park.

Patna Zoo is among one of the most distinguished zoos in the world which is widely acclaimed for its successful breeding programme of endangered species/animals particularly the one-horned Rhinos.

The success story of rhino-breeding put the Patna zoo on global map for rhino breeding. Today, Patna zoo has the second largest rhino population among all the biological parks in the world, next only to San Diego zoo, California.

The annual number of its visitor makes up approximately 45-55 lakhs.
Zoo is a venue for both fun and learning and is quite popular among the children.
Taking a boat ride in the beautiful lake in the park is also an excellent recreation and fun.


SRI KRISHNA SCIENCE CENTER

Sri Krishna Science Centre was established with a view to develop scientific attitude and temper and to create, inculcate and sustain a general awareness amongst the people.

Located near south western corner of the Gandhi Maidan. Sri Krishna Science Centre is very popular among all visitors

The Centre remains open for visitors from 10-30am to 6-00pm every day, except on ‘Holi’ and Diwali’.

Station Road flyover is proved to be a boon for Patnaites

Station Road flyover is proved to be a boon for Patnaites reducing congestion and travel time drastically.

Connecting Mithapur road overbridge with the Chiraiyatand flyover, this 854-m.flyover was built by Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam limited (BRPNNL) at the cost of Rs 167.85 crore using segmental bridge technology.

Station Road flyover is magnificent and unique as it overlook a Temple – Mahavir Mandir, mosque –Jama Masjid and Buddha Smriti Park.

Inaugurated on 26th December 2017 by Chief Minister NItish Kumar, Station Road flyover is marked as a significant landmark in the urban landscape of Patna which affords a great view of the city.

 

Bodh Gaya

Gaya (/ɡʌjɑː/) (Hindi: गया) is a city of ancient historical and mythological significance. It is one of the major tourist attractions of Bihar. The city is the second largest city of Bihar[2] and also the headquarters of Gaya District.
Gaya is 100 kilometers south of Patna, the capital city of Bihar and 230 km from Bhagalpur. Situated on the banks of the Phalgu River (or Niranjana, as mentioned in Ramayana), it is a place sanctified by the Jain, Hindu and Buddhist religions. It is surrounded by small rocky hills (Mangla-Gauri, Shringa-Sthan,Ram-Shila and Brahmayoni) by three sides and the river flowing on the fourth (eastern) side. The city has a mix of natural surroundings, age old buildings and narrow bylanes.
