International Yoga Day celebrated in Patna

As the world celebrates the International Yoga Day on June 21 for the second year, Patnaites  gathered in large number  at various Yoga camps in the state capital with tremendous enthusiasm and motivation to learn the various techniques of this age old practice and its usefulness in their daily life styles for remaining fit and healthy.

Gandhi Maidan and Buddha Smriti Park were among the major venues where yoga camps were organized by Patanjali Arogya Kendra and Art of Living respectively.

The idea of an International Day of Yoga was first proposed by Narendra Modi during his speech at the UNGA, on September 27, 2014.

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his UN Address suggested the date of June 21, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares special significance in many parts of the world.

World Music Day coincides with the International Day of Yoga.
