The city is gearing up for the biggest festival of Chhath as all the preparations for Chhath puja are in full swing.
Chhath Puja is the biggest festival for the people of Bihar living within Bihar or across the country or world and often referred to as “Mahaparva”.
All the elaborate arrangements and managements are being executed by administration on war footing level. Whether it is cleanliness of Ghats, ponds and all other places or the safety matters , administration is leaving no stone unturned to make it a successful event.
Chhath puja is performed on Kartika Shukla Shashthi, which is the sixth day of the month of Kartika in the Vikram Samvat.

Patna Pirates lifts the trophy for the second successive season as they beat Jaipur Pink Panthers in a thrilling encounter. Puneri Paltan claim third place in a closely contested fight against Telugu Titans.
Season 4 of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi ended on a high note at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium with reigning champions Patna Pirates recording a 37-29 victory over the formidable Jaipur Pink Panthers in the finale. It was a closely contested 40 minutes of perhaps the finest kabaddi game of the season, as both teams battled for supremacy. Dharmaraj Cheralathan captain of the Patna Pirates, hoisted up the golden trophy amidst spectacular scenes of celebration.
It was Patna’s aggression versus Jaipur’s tactics and in the end, it was Patna Pirates who stamped their authority and emerged as champions of the League, claiming their second trophy.
Patna Pirates’ Pardeep Narwal scored 17 points and was awarded Best Raider while the champions’ Hodi Oshtorak was awarded the Best Defender of the Match respectively. Telugu Titans’ Rahul Chaudhari finished a dream season as the most successful raider with 146 points.

Patna Book Fair 2015
Around 18k people turned up on the inaugural day of 22nd edition of Patna Book Fair at Gandhi Maidan in the city.
The book fair is held annually by CRD (Centre for Readership Development) and this year the book fair is based on the theme, ‘Padhega Bihar- Badhega Bihar’, and is dedicated to former President late A P J Abdul Kalam.
The enthusiasm of the book lovers did not lessen and a large number of visitors of all age-groups could be seen thronging the stalls at the fair which opened with 800 stalls at the Gandhi Maidan in the city on Friday. The 12-day fair will remain open till December 15.
